trying to make Taiwan a better place for people to live in Taiwan.On May 21, 2008 Taiwan got a new President. This was a great day for Taiwanese people but I think not everyone knows this so I will explain a bit about him and his future plans. His name is Ma Ying-Jeou, nad he was born in Hong Kong in 13 July 1957.He was the mayor of Taipei (Taiwan’s capital) from 1998 to 2006.
He had campaigned to have talks with China about getting into a peaceful and prosperity relationship long strained of the two countries. He is going to try and also seek greater economic engagement with China.
He also said that he was not going to surrender to China so that they can rule Taiwan. He has been seen as the bright light into linking Taiwan with China so that Taiwan can unleash its "high tech" economy together with China's booming industry. Ma has also agreed to help Taiwan into not engaging in any types of war during his time in charge.

Ma Ying-Jeou has been new President of Taiwan, it is great!I have seen him in TV while he do presentation.he is very clever and kind. I like him being President of Taiwan.
